"Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested; that is, some books are to be read only in parts; others to be read but not curiously; and some few to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention."

Freebies

We have many FREE publications in our Library foyer -- items that offer information on a wide variety of topics.

There are publications from the government on everything from disaster preparedness to registering to vote. The Library also has flyers on its own programs including those that teach adults how to read or how to write their life stories.

If you're wondering about all of the places to see in Los Angeles, there are brochures from almost every museum and concert hall in the area, including the Getty, the Skirball, the Norton Simon and Disney Hall.

The Library encourages groups to put their own publications out for those who might be interested. At any given time you might find something about pets, coffee, Valley events, adult ed classes and senior citizens.
[Note: all publications must be approved by the Library before being displayed]

Finally, there are free periodicals that keep you abreast of what is happening in our own area of the Valley. You will find:

Whatever you're interested in, you're bound to find something of interest at the Library, not only on the shelves, but as soon as you walk into the library. Please take a look at what's there the next time you come in.
