History & Politics Book Club

The History & Politics Book Club meets at 4 PM on the fourth Wednesday of the month. (To avoid a conflict with the holidays, they will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month in November and December.)

The Book Club members decided to read about and discuss the United States Presidents. They began with President Washington and usually discuss one President a month (with some exceptions, e.g., since President Taylor's term was cut short by his death, they included President Fillmore in their monthly discussion.)

Rather than having everyone read the same book, each member of FOL's History & Politics Book Club chooses a different book to read on the topic. The variety allows the group to enjoy lively discussions.

According to the discussion leader, Bruce Keswick, the group's current plans are as follows:
  June 23, 2010 - President Theodore Roosevelt
July 28, 2010 - President William Howard Taft
  August 25, 2010 - President Woodrow Wilson
