The Villa is considered the only museum of Greek and Roman antiquities in America. The renovated building is a copy of the first century Roman Villa dei Papiri, which was buried under Mount Vesuvius. The Museum has 48,000 square feet of gallery space, displays 1,200 artifacts, and has four gardens with more than 300 flowering plants.
